1、动词 knock 后面加介词组成的词组：

knock at 敲

例句：A beggar knocked at my door.

knock off 碰掉

The writer has just moved to a house in Bridge Street. A beggar knocked at her door yesterday. He sang songs. The writer gave him a meal and a glass of beer in return for this. The beggar’s name is Percy Buttons. He calls at every house once a month.

I think that the beggar’s behave followed the professional ethics. Without stealing and robbing, tried to make living by working.

There is a time when beggar always asked for a meal and picked up some food to eat left by other people in the restaurants. They just wanted to live.

But some years later, I don’t know what time is beginning that the beggar became a job, for they only asked for money not food. They made large sums of money in this way not only for living.

These days we have seldom seen beggar in the streets following the development of economic and the growing of living level of our country. And thieves are getting less and less because we use mobile payment instead of cash in the most of time. Very few people take wallet or purse with them.

Our daily life relies on internet more and more following the development of technology. We did almost everything on line. Now smart phones are getting more and more popular, these gave the opportunity to the liars. They cheat person especially elder people by telecom. A lot of elder people were broken the bank by the cheats.

We should pay more attention to every phone call about remittance to protect ourselves from cheating.
